Freeze-dry (brief named Freeze-dry) is a stable process of material dried which will put the material contained with water to freeze to solid first, then make among them of the water sublimate from solid to air condition, removing water to preserve materials.
Refrigeration system
Provides a cryogenic environment for pre-freezing materials and maintaining cold trap temperatures (typically below -50°C).
Commonly used refrigerants: liquid nitrogen or compressor refrigeration (e.g. freon).
Vacuum system
It consists of a vacuum pump and a valve that maintains a low-pressure environment in the chamber to promote sublimation.
Commonly used pump types: oil rotary vane pumps, dry scroll pumps, etc.
Heating system
Controlled heat is provided by thermal conduction plates or radiant heating to accelerate sublimation and desorption.
Precise temperature control is required to prevent the material from melting or denaturing.
Control system
Monitor and adjust temperature, pressure, time and other parameters to achieve automatic operation.
Advanced lyophilizer with endpoint determination (e.g. pressure rise test)
